Bishop's College of Nursing (BCN), Dharapuram was established in 1992.

It is affiliated to the Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, Chennai, approved by the Tamilnadu Nurses and Midwives Council, Chennai and Indian Nursing Council, New Delhi.

The nurses have to be well prepared with sound knowledge, adequate skills and competencies to provide good standards of nursing care to the public in health and illness.

The plan of care and subsequent nursing actions are goal directed, derived from the nursing diagnosis an upon knowledge of social, behavioral, biological, physical, medical and nursing science Professional nursing includes nursing actions which assist persons to cope with Physiological, Physiological and Sociological and cultural threats, to health .

Trichy-Tanjore diocese has fulfilled it's long felt need and desire by starting the B.Sc., Nursing degree course at Bishop's college of Nursing, Dharapuram in  1993 and M.Sc., Nursing degree course in 2006.

The aim to produce nurses who are self directed individuals and responsible citizens with total commitment to care for the sick and healthy in all stages and in all settings.
