Bishop Arulswamy Teacher Training Institute, Irungalur is established in 2006.

The College is managed under Catholic Diocese of Kumbakonam and is run by the Kumbakonam Diocese Society with the noble cause of providing employment opportunity to the youth of the districts of Trichy, Perambalur and Thanjavur.and to prepare them in the future to be professionally competent and committed teachers in this back ward area.

Bishop Arulswamy Teacher Training Institute is one of the best self-financing Teacher Training Institutes in Tamil Nadu.

The Institute has obtained ‘No Objection Certificate’ from the State Government of Tamil Nadu and also got Recognition from the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), New Delhi to run the Institute.
