The Bihar Institute of Law has been established by the Law Society of Bihar in January 1984 by senior and renowned members of Patna High Court Bar.

The main objective of the society was to establish this institute of law to impart multi dimensional legel education and prepare students for the diverse world of Litigation,law,and others to fulfill the legal expectation of people of Bihar.

The institute is recognized by the Magadh University in whose jurisdiction the institute imparts LLB three year degree courses.

The Bar council of India has granted affiliation to this Institute from 1984 and onwards.
