About Bhai Asa Singh Girls College
Bhai Asa Singh Girls College, Goniana Mandi (Dist. Bathinda) was established in 1973 and managed by Bhai Jagta Ji Educational Society.
It is one of the premier colleges established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress.
The college is affiliated with Punjabi University, Patiala and it is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) in 1975 under Act, 1956.
It is accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "B+" Grade (CGPA Score 2.49 on a 4 Point Scale in 1st Cycle) on 16th September 2003.
The aim of the college was spreading the light of education in a rural area, where girls were not allowed to step out of homes, until a few years ago also in the contribution in the emancipation as well as the empowerment of women.
Bhai Kanhaiya Charitable Trust Inc. was a parent trust that was included many others substituent trust also to started the numbers of school & institutions in the region of Punjab & Haryana.
It is a woman private college, providing a regular course which is located in an urban part of a Bathinda played a pioneering role in the field of higher education.
The college has receives many awards and prizes annually recognize in the field of the excellent performers in Sports, Culture, and Academics. Every year 100s of students are honored for their outstanding performance in Sports, Culture, and Academics.
The college offers three years undergraduate courses in Bachelor of Arts (B.A.), Bachelor of Computer Application (B.C.A.) streams with various specializations under Punjabi University, Patiala. It also offers diploma and self-financed courses as well.
The college has now applied to the Board of Education for two new degree courses in a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) and the other is for a degree in Music.

- The college has established an Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) to assure the quality of the college and also details regarding submission of Annual Quality Assurance Reports (AQAR) to NAAC annually

- The college has a significant presence in the field of research. A number of major & minor research projects are awarded to the faculty members by the UGC and other bodies
- The college has a large playground with well-equipment for different sports like Cricket, Football, Volleyball, Hockey, Badminton and so on

- State Government and Central Government offers a number of scholarships to the meritorious students and the students belonging to SC / ST / OBC
- The institution has provided ICT facilities like computers, projectors, audio-visual gadgets, scanners and printers to the departments and also other aids and a huge number of availability of books for effective delivery of curriculum and for inculcating the knowledge of the subject
- A special complaint cell (Sexual Harassment Cell) has been formed for the female students in the college. Students can directly complain orally or by written application to the head of the cell. Apart from this, Ragging is strictly prohibited on the college campus
- To sharpen the skill of students and their personality development, various curricular and extra-curricular activities are the regular features of the institution
- The college also organizes workshops, seminars, and conferences for improving teaching skills and methodology
- The college Unit NSS Wing performs different type of social services within and outside of the area
- The college also provides NCC training to its students. The NCC cadets attend different camps and earn pride for themselves and for the college
- The college consists Women Cell to help female students. This cell helps and guides girls to sort out from their personal problem and avoid them from any harassment
