About Babu Banarasi Das University
Babu Banarasi Das University, Lucknow was established on October 12, 2010, by late Akhilesh Das. The University was named after his father and former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Banarasi Das.
Commonly known as BBD University, it is a State Private University imparting higher education for the deserving aspirants and has its main campus in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.
It was recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) under Act, 1956 and approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi and National Council for Teacher Education, Jaipur to offer various B.Ed., Engineering, & Management courses.
University At A Glance:
In 1998, the stepping stone of BBD University was laid with the formation of Babu Banarasi Das National Institute of Technology and Management, approved by AICTE and affiliated to Dr B.R. Ambedkar University.
After two years of its establishment, the formation of Northern India Engineering College and Uttar Pradesh Dental College & Research Center affiliated to Dr B.R. Ambedkar University took place.
Later in 2000, Babu Banarasi Das National Institute of Technology & Management and Northern India Engineering College transferred their affiliation to Uttar Pradesh Technical University, now known as Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University.
Uttar Pradesh Dental College & Research Center continued to be affiliated with Dr B.R. Ambedkar University.
The establishment of Babu Banarasi Das Educational Society Group of Institutions, Faculty of Engineering, affiliated to Uttar Pradesh Technical University took place in 2007.
The university conferred the status of the autonomous body on October 12, 2010. Later, the university introduced so many courses in Engineering & other streams.
Uttar Pradesh Dental College & Research Centre surrendered its affiliation to Dr B.R. Ambedkar University and the college was renamed as Babu Banarasi Das College of Dental Sciences. Babu Banarasi Das Engineering College is permanently affiliated to Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University, Lucknow.

Tata Consultancy Services - Strong tie ups with TCS for placement as well as FDPs and students activities. We are also the biggest testing partner of SMB arm of TCS.
Future Sharp Skills Limited - Future Sharp Skills Limited (FSSL) is a joint Initiative between Future Group and National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC). It has been formed with the sole objective of skilling 70 Lakh Indians by 2020 and creating a steady career path for them, in 19 different trades. They have selected BBD as their training and assessment venue.
IBM - IBM conducts regular FDPs and seminar for students and faculties of BBD. They have also provided support to develop a high end software engineering lab.
