About Baihata Chariali B.ED College
Baihata Chariali B.Ed College, Kamrup was established on 11th August, 1994 by a team of selfless and dedicated social thinkers and lovers of education of greater locality.
The college is affiliated to Gauhati University, Guwahati and recognized by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE).
The college started as per Gauhati University regulations as an evening shift college from a temporary site at it initial stage the college is shifted to their permanent site in 1996. comes under the Regulations and Control of National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), New Delhi, India, enjoys recognition from this national statutory body since 1997 and has since been marching ahead steadily towards fulfilling their goals and objectives.
Baihata Chariali B.Ed College is situated at Baihata Chariali, a semi-township 25 km to the north of Guwahati, the capital of Assam. The catchment area of the college extends from Goreswar in the north to North Guwahati in the south and from Dumunichowki in the east to Puthimari in the west encompassing a geographical land area of 738 sq. km with Baihata Chariali at the centre.

Goals & Objectives:
- To provide teacher education (training) to the Secondary level graduate teachers of the greater region of North-East Kamrup
- To create awareness among all concerned about the necessity and importance of teacher education at the secondary level of schooling
- To work towards improving the quality of teaching and thereby improve the quality of education at the said level
- To provide professional guidance and expertise to those in need of such guidance and expertise at the said level
- To instil the spirit of quality-consciousness in all concerned for education at the secondary level
- To promote socio-educational development in the region by up keeping the supply of trained and quality manpower to the teaching profession at the secondary level
- Various teaching and learning techniques are being used by the faculty to impart knowledge and skills to students at Viswa Jyothi College of Education, Krishna in its various departments.
- The college has well-equipped with all modern facilities like classrooms, library, laboratory, canteen, gymnasium, athletics, indoor and other outdoor games etc.
- The college has a full-fledged Library with a Reading Hall. It is enriched with more than 3550 books and also undertakes some of the innovative programmes
- There is a full fledged ICT room with more than 12 No of computers and ample opportunity is offered to the teacher trainees to put on hands on training and to acquaint with fundamental knowledge on computers
- The teacher trainees are encouraged to prepare Power Point and Graphical Presentation
- The college facilitates a high quality and advanced psychological laboratory for its trainees
- The laboratory is fully furnished with modern psychological tools to test the different abilities of trainees. Along with different psychological equipments like Memory Drum, Mirror Drawing Apparatus, Punch Board Learning Apparatus, Performance test (Bhatia Battery), Stop Watch etc., it also provides different psychological charts, pictures and models for the benefit of trainees
- The college is equipped with well furnished hi-tech equipments which will enable the teacher trainees to be familiar and skilled with new methods and techniques in the instructional process
- The Laboratory is well equipped with TV, Computers, LCD, Projector, Tape recorder, Radio, Charts, DVD and Educational CDs etc
