B. P. Marine Academy (BPMA), Belapur was established in 1997.

It is affiliated to Mumbai University.

The academy with the objective of imparting marine related training to seafarers and thereby achieves an overall improvement of the quality of seafarers.

The aim of the institute is to impart training, which will adhere to the legislative requirement, meet the National and International standards and the guidance from the industry codes wherever applicable and endeavors to provide new courses after reviewing the demand for such courses or discontinuing courses.
