B. C. S. Government P. G. College was established in 1984, affiliated to Pt. Ravi Shankar University, Raipur.

The college has a campus spread over in the area measuring 27.70 acres.

It has 3-storied building having 31 Classrooms, Stores, Laboratories, Office, Principal's Office, NCC Office, Staff-room and Library.

The Babu Chote Lal Shrivastava Government P.G. College Dhamtari (District - Dhamtari) Chhattisgarh volunteered to be assessed by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and SSR was submitted to NAAC by the institution in October 2004.
