Avinasi Gounder Mariammal College of Education, Erode was established in 2005, the self financed, co educational college was set up with an objective of promoting educational development as well as fulfilling the need of teacher educators in the region.

Initially affiliated to Bharthiar University, the college is presently affiliated to Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University.

Functioning under the management of Avinasi Gounder Mariammal Trust, the college has received approval from the N.C.T.E (National Council for Teachers Education).
