Amardeep Singh Shergill Memorial College, Mukandpur (Dist. Nawanshahr was also known as Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar) as a constituent college was established in 1994 in the memory of Amardeep Singh Shergill and managed by Amardeep Singh Shergill Memorial Trust.

It is one of the premier colleges established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress.

The college is affiliated with Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar and it is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) under Act, 1956.

It is accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "B++" Grade (in 1st Cycle) on 16th September 2004.

The aim is to provide a solid foundation for long life learning upon which students can achieve maximum potential and to provide quality education to the rural youth.

The college was started Intermediate school in the name of Amardeep Secondary School, Mukandpur which was established in 2004 under the aegis of Amardeep Singh Shergill Memorial Trust.

Since its inception, the school offers the course in science, commerce, and Arts.  In addition to this two seats are reserved for a professional course like MBA (five-year integrated course) for students of this institution in ASSM College.

Special education is given to all round development of the students.It is a co-educational self-financed private college, providing a regular course which is located in a rural part of a Mukandpur played a pioneering role in the field of higher education.
