About Asannagar Madan Mohan Tarkalankar College (AMMTC)

Asannagar Madan Mohan Tarkalankar College, Nadia was established in 2007 with permission of the W.B.C.H.E‚ and is affiliated to the University of Kalyani.

It started its first session with pass course in Humanities.

However in the very next session honors course in Bengali and History were started. In 2009 honours courses in English and Sanskrit were introduced and in pass course Education and Philosophy were also introduced. The college has a department of Physical Education as well. Though the college is one of the new entries in the educational map of West Bengal. Its performance in various university examinations is commendable. The college has the objective of Catering education to all sections of the society and particularly to the educationally and socially backward.

The performance of the college in the various University Examinations has been commendable since its inception although it is a fact that we do not get the best of the talents as our students. It is due to the tireless work on part of the teaching community of this college, we have been able to achieve something out of nothing.

On the infrastructural front, we have been able to develop new Classrooms, a new library with necessary books, new set of equipments for the student of Physical Education etc. In keeping with the contemporary mode of teaching we have introduced ICT and Multi-media to modernize the class room and provide our students with best technological support possible. The library is going to be computerized in the new academic session.

We are glad to inform the new-coming students that from the academic session 2012-13, we have successfully opened an NSS Unit in the college. Together with the whole Bengal, we have also celebrated 150th Birth Anniversary of two of our respected personalities, namely Swami Vivekananda, the great Seer and pioneer, and Dwijendralal Roy, the poet and the dramatist from the district of Nadia itself.

We also had the honour to pay our tribute to another son of the soil, Madan Mohan Tarkalankar, the man after whom the college is named.
