Asan Memorial College of Arts & Science is one of the premier self-financing, co-educational institutions in Chennai. It was established in 1994 and is governed by the Asan Memorial Association. The College was formally inaugurated by his Excellency Shri. K. R. Narayanan, then Honourable Vice President of India in the presence of his Excellency Mr. Vakkom Purushothaman, then Lt. Governor of Andaman and Nicobar.

From its humble beginnings in 1994, with just 4 undergraduate courses and 6 faculty members, the college has now grown to offer 10 Under Graduate courses (Arts, Science and Commerce) and 4 Post Graduate Courses (Science, Management) and 2 Research programmes (Science). The College also introduced Shift II in 2010, offering UG courses in Commerce, BBA and BCA.

The cherished goal of this institution is to nurture excellence in education. It pursues an inclusive “learning for all” approach, committed to a holistic development of the individual to be a responsible citizen with respect for human values. With its motto of “Education beyond Classrooms,” the institution fosters an atmosphere of academic vigour, sportive spirit and cultural vibrancy.
