Arignar Anna Government Arts College, Attur was established in 1972.

The college is aggregated B Grade in NAAC and affiliated by Periyar University, Salem.

The goals and objectives of the institute is to motivate the students to acquire communicational skills and leadership qualities, to prepare the students aspire for research scholarship and for studies abroad.

To motivate them to be socially conscious and responsible and to create in them an awareness of not only the constitutional rights but also their obligations.
