About Apeejay Saraswati P.G. College for Girls

Apeejay Saraswati P.G. College for Girls, Bhiwani was established in 1974 and was brought under the aegis of the Apeejay Education Society in December 1990.

The college is spread over 5.25 acres of land in a lush green environment. It is housed in a double-storey building with a total built-up area of more than 40,000 sq. ft.

The college is affiliated to Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak and recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) under Act, 1956. It is accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "B+" Grade in 2003.

The name "Apeejay" signifies and represents the ideal combination of modern and traditional values, spreading the light of knowledge and preparing the youth for the future, thus contributing towards the task of nation-building.

The college is flourishing under the guidance of eminent educationist, industrialist, and philanthropist Dr. Stya Paul. It is situated at Charkhi Dadri - a remote area of southern Haryana, about 100 km. from New Delhi and 28 km. from its district headquarters in Bhiwani.

The college not only caters effectively to the needs of the modern times in the form of many professional courses but also offers some traditional courses that promote the inculcation of values among the youth.

Being the only girls' college in the city and its surrounding area, it serves the educational need of girls living in the radius of about 15 km's. Within the last decade, the college has metamorphosed into a force to reckon with, by achieving in every field - adding colors, hues, nuances, and brightness to its every dimension.

Undergraduate Programmes:

The college offers B.A., B.Com. and B.A. / B. Com. (Computer Vocational) courses. (The minimum eligibility for admission is 10+2 by any recognized Board/University.)

Postgraduate Programmes:

The college offers Masters (M.A.) in Hindi and English. (The Minimum qualification for admission is B.A.

(45% aggregate).

Admission:

Eligibility and admission procedure is as per M.D. University, Rohtak rules & regulations.

Vision & Mission:

Apeejay Saraswati P.G. College for Girls was established by the Society for providing education to women in the remote and backward area of the state, with the objective of empowering the rural women of the area to get respectable status in society and become self-confident and self-reliant. The college imparts human values as it believes in "Man-Making" & "Nation -Building" education.

Affiliation

Apeejay Saraswati P.G. College for Girls is affiliated to Chaudhary Bansi Lal University, Bhiwani, as notified by the Higher Education Department of Haryana through notification number S.O. 43/H.A.25/2014/S.4/2017. The College was previously affiliated to M.D. University, Rohtak - one of the four universities that form the cornerstone of higher education in Haryana.

Accreditation by NAAC

The college was last accredited by National Assessment & Accreditation Council Bangalore in January 2003 and was graded B+.

The college has an attractive, campus situated in secured and serene atmosphere suitable for learning
The college has separate individual departments for all subjects with young, dynamic faculty and non-teaching staff and with good results
The college has the most eminent Faculty members and they are really well qualified, experienced and truly committed towards enhancement and development of the students
The college has well-equipped with modern facilities like library, laboratory, classrooms, computer lab, canteen, seminar halls, multipurpose halls & playground etc.
A sufficient number of classrooms with varying sizes are made available for the smooth conduct of different classes in the college
The college has a library with a good number of books (both text and reference) on various subjects to meet the needs of the students as well as the teachers with reading room facility. Daily Newspapers and selected journals are also regularly subscribed
The college has a book bank for helping the poor and backward class students
State of the Art Laboratories with sufficient space and all the necessary equipment are made available to various departments
The college has taken up the responsibility of imparting necessary, effective and practical education to the students so that they can reach great heights and attain maximum achievements in their life
The college has established an Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) to assure the quality of the college and also details regarding submission of Annual Quality Assurance Reports (AQAR) to NAAC annually
The college runs a canteen inside the campus where staff and students can have meals and snacks prepared in a hygienic manner and at an affordable cost
Internet & Wi-Fi facilities may be availed by the students and teachers as per their needs
The college has a large playground with will-equipment for different sports like Cricket, Football, Volleyball, Hockey, Badminton and so on
A medical facility has been available in the college for the benefit of the students
A special complaint cell (Sexual Harassment Cell) has been formed for the female students in the college. Students can directly complain orally or by written application to the head of the cell. Apart from this, Ragging is strictly prohibited on the college campus
The institute provides the training facility like- face to face interview, resume making, communication skills, that help the students to face the campus recruitment
For every course, the college imparts practical training to its students that helps them to understand better, improve their demonstrative skills, eliminate hesitation and in this process strives to mold them into industry ready professionals
The college also provides NCC training to its students. The NCC cadets attend different camps and earn pride for themselves and for the college
The college Unit NSS Wing performs different type of social services within and outside of the area
State Government and Central Government offers a number of scholarships to the meritorious students and the students belonging to SC / ST / OBC
