Ananda Chandra College of Commerce was established in 1962. Its affiliated to University of North Bengal.

It is situated in the heart of the Jalpaiguri Town on the D.B.C. Road, did not start its journey from the same premises from its very beginning. An evening Commerce Section of Ananda Chandra College was opened with only 54 students in the B. Com.

As Sonaulla School could not provide accommodation for more than one class room, the evening section was shifted to Ananda Chandra College in 1963. The number of students went up steadily. 

On acquisition of the separate building of its own at D.B.C Road the University of North Bengal granted affiliation on 9th September 1969 under the name of Ananda Chandra College of Commerce.

The college, under the stewardship of Nares Chandra Bhowmick as its first full fledged Principal heralded the new era on and 1st January, 1970. Evening section was continued to accommodate heavy rush of the students and also to those who are employed or otherwise engaged during daytime.

Jalpaiguri Railway Station, Bus stand, Police Station, Hospital etc are at its stone throws distance.

The locational advantages of this College and the long standing reputation of the college for high standard of teaching and sincerity of teachers draw intelligent students from the nearing districts, states and also from the neighboring countries. 

The college recognised under section 2(f) & 12(B) of UGC Act Affiliated to University of North Bengal.
