The Deen Dayal Upadhyay University of Gorakhpur, also known as Gorakhpur University, is a esidential-cum-affiliating University located in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh.

Though the University started functioning from 1st September 1957 with four faculties of Arts, Commerce, Law and Education, it was officially established in 1965 by an Act of the Uttar Pradesh legislature.

The Faculty of Science was instituted in 1958 which was progressively followed the faculties of Engineering, Medicine and Agriculture.
