Aklia College of Education for Women, Goniana Mandi (Dist. Bathinda) was established in 2005 and managed by Aklia Educational & Research Society which was established in 2003.

It is one of the premier colleges established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress.

The trust has been started the first college of education i.e. Aklia College of Education for Women was started giving B.Ed. & E.T.T courses to impart teacher education. In the second phase, the institution started degree courses in BCA, BBA, BA, PGDCA, Polytechnics and many more institutions for the students in the same building.

The college is affiliated with Punjabi University, Patiala and it is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) under Act, 1956. 

It is also recognized and approved by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), Jaipur.

It is accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "B" Grade (CGPA Score 2.42 on a 4 Point  Scale in 1st Cycle) on 27th March 2011.

The main aim of the college is determined to provide the quality education to the future teachers. With the correct mix of technology and human touch, the college empowers the aspiring teachers to propagate education through the rungs of the society so that they serve the nation while making a satisfying career for themselves.

It is a woman self-financed Institute, provided a regular course in which is located in the urban part of Bathinda played a pioneering role in the field of higher education.

The college offers two years Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) courses for those who have completed their graduation with minimum aggregate of 50% from any recognized university are eligible to apply for this course.

Students here are admitted who completed their graduation from recognized university with at least 50% marks in major or in aggregate at the Degree level.

But Scheduled Castes (S.C.), Scheduled Tribes (S.T.) & (O.B.C) candidates are to be entitled with a relaxation 5% marks ineligibility for admission.

The college also offers two years diploma level course of Elementary Teacher Training (E.T.T.) for teaching. This program is an opening path for the students who have passed their senior secondary examination (10+2).
