Army Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology, Bengaluru was established in 1996 and managed by Army Welfare Education Society (AWES)-(R) & Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India.

Army Welfare Education Society is a Non-Profit welfare Organization registered under the Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860 on 29 Apr 1983 dedicated to the service of Army.

It is affiliated with the Bangalore University, Bengaluru and it is recognized by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi.

It is re-accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "B" Grade (CGPA Score 2.22 on a 4 Point Scale in 1st Cycle) on 1st May 2015.

The aim of the institute is offering an excellent education to those students who want to enter into the field of hospitality administration also imparting high-quality hotel management education acceptable to the international hospitality industry.

It is a co-educational self-financing institute, providing a regular course which is located in an urban part of Bengaluru played a pioneering role in the field of higher education.

The Institute was located in ASC Centre until June 2007 and currently functioning at present location since July 2007.

The institute offers 4 years an undergraduate program in Bachelor’s Degree in Hotel Management (BHM) under the affiliating University.

The institute offers a four-year degree course in Hotel Management. The various subjects taught in the course include Hotel Accounting, Dynamics of Human Resource, Human Research Development, Financial Management, Marketing Management, and Business Law.

The Institute has secured 2nd position overall among Private Hotel Management Colleges among the South Zone Hotel Management Colleges, and in All India ranking 3rd among Top Colleges in Hotel Management.

Admissions to AIHMCT is through Written Ability Test (WAT) conducted every year. Admissions will be based on the merit of the candidates in the Written Admission Test.

Also, admission to the course shall be provisional, final admission is subject to confirmation regarding eligibility criteria from Bangalore University.
