The Acharya Patashala Polytechnic, Bangalore was founded in 1958 under the 2nd Five Year Plan of the Government of India and the Government of Mysore. Founded at a time when the country was experience acute shortage of trained technical men in the field of Engineering it started imparting education in Civil, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering.
The APS institutions were founded Eleven years after independence, it forayed into technical education.
