A.V.M. Teacher Training Institute, Belagavi was established in 2006 and the college was established under Shikshan Prasarak Mandal Raibag Trust.

It is one of the premier colleges established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress.

The college is affiliated to Department of State Educational Research and Training, Bengaluru. It is also recognized & approved by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), Bengaluru.

The college also offers two years Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.) course for those who have completed their intermediate with the minimum aggregate of 50% from any recognized college/university under the affiliating to Department of State Educational Research and Training, Bengaluru.

Students here are admitted who completed their intermediate from recognized college/university with at least 50% marks in major or in aggregate at the intermediate level. But Scheduled Castes (S.C.), Scheduled Tribes (S.T.) & (O.B.C) candidates are to be entitled with a relaxation 5% marks ineligibility for admission.
