UGC-NET Sociology Re-Exam Today: Crucial Exam Day Guidelines and Timing for Candidates

UGC-NET Sociology re-exam is underway today, Thursday, September 10, 2026, 9 am to 12 pm. NTA rescheduled the paper after an expert review flagged many errors in June. Candidates should reach early and avoid stress at entry checkpoints. Keep travel margins for traffic near centres. This is Day 2 of the re-test.

Report two hours before the start for frisking and registration. Carry the printed admit card and one original, valid photo ID. Aadhaar, PAN, Passport, Voter ID, or Driving Licence are accepted. Read centre-specific instructions on your hall ticket. Avoid restricted items, including smart devices and notes.

UGC-NET re-exam: Sociology paper timing and key centre checks

As notified, Sociology runs in shift 1 today, 9 am to 12 noon. No additional examination fee applies for re-conducted subjects. Centre and seating details are on the admit card only. Keep the same application number for all communications.

Admit card and valid ID rules for UGC-NET Sociology re-exam (PwD/scribe)

Persons with Disabilities who opted for a scribe must have submitted details on the scribe portal. Carry the disability certificate and scribe undertaking in the prescribed format. Eligible candidates receive compensatory time of at least 20 minutes per hour. Centre staff may verify documents before allowing the facility.

UGC-NET answer key timeline after the Sociology re-test

Provisional answer keys for 84 subjects were released on August 16. The challenge window ran until August 18, 11:50 pm, at Rs 200 per question. For English, Commerce, and Sociology, NTA will display keys separately after the re-exam. Final keys precede results, and evaluations use the final keys only.

JRF and Assistant Professor cut-off impact for Sociology

NTA confirmed that the Assistant Professor eligibility list remains at 6 percent of appearers. For the three re-conducted subjects, allocations will follow the Information Bulletin. Numbers already allocated will not be reduced after the retest.
