  • In February 1992, the famous spinner made his international cricket debut against India at the Sydney Cricket Ground. The cricketer's debut was not particularly memorable. He weighed 97kgs when he made his debut, which was far too heavy for a bowler. And he only managed to take a single wicket for 150 runs during the match.
  • Shane developed his skill over time and became one of the best leg spinners in the game. He demonstrated his talent at the 1999 World Cup, when he became the highest wicket-taker and the Australian cricket team won the tournament.
  • Shane and controversies were inextricably linked. In 2000, rumours surfaced that Warne had sent sexual text messages to an English nurse while playing for Hampshire.
