Today is Sunday, August 30, 2026. Only 24 hours remain to finish NMMSS 2026–27 applications. Use the National Scholarship Portal (NSP). The deadline is Monday, August 31, 2026. The award pays ₹12,000 a year via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). Apply early morning to avoid rush and impostor sites.
Eligible now: Class 9–12 students who cleared the Class 8 NMMS exam. They must study in government, local body, or aided schools. They must also meet the ₹3.5 lakh annual family income cap. Kendriya Vidyalaya, Sainik, and most residential private schools are excluded. Renewals must keep required attendance and pass the annual exam.

Fresh applicants enter Class 9 after clearing the Class 8 NMMS test. Renewals are continuing scholars in Classes 10, 11, or 12. You must pass yearly exams, maintain attendance, and stay in an eligible school. Minimum marks apply, with relaxations for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe (SC/ST) students.
Keep clear scans ready. Include an Aadhaar‑seeded bank passbook, income certificate, and domicile proof. Add the NMMS exam certificate, recent photo, and signature. Attach the current year school ID or bonafide letter, plus category or disability documents if applicable. Filenames should match details on Aadhaar, bank, and school records.
Register on NSP with mobile and email, then complete your student profile. Select NMMSS 2026–27, choose Fresh or Renewal, and enter bank details carefully. Upload clear, size‑compliant documents, review entries, and submit to your institute. Note the application number and print the acknowledgement for future verification.
Typical rejections stem from name or date mismatches, wrong IFSC, duplicate registrations, and unreadable uploads. Use the exact Aadhaar spelling and verify account status. Compress files without blurring, and avoid cybercafé autofill mistakes. Submit early Monday morning. Keep screenshots of every page. Never pay agents or trust look‑alike websites.
After submission, your institute verifies details, followed by district and state nodal checks. If discrepancies arise, correct them within the given window. Upon approval and Aadhaar seeding, funds reach your bank via the Public Financial Management System. Submit before the August 31 deadline, then track NSP status and bank messages for the credit.
