Never Procrastinate
Time management is required for any competitive entrance examination. Students should stick to their timetable and never encourage procrastination at any stage of the preparations, specifically during the last month. Once something gets delayed, it keeps on pushing everything, which leads to panic and tension during the last days of preparation.
Identify Your Strengths
Prior to your weaknesses, know about your strengths. There is no negative marking in the COMEDK exam; this means you should focus more on your correct answers rather than incorrect ones. Try to list all the topics that you are strong and weak in. Make time for mastering the weak concepts and try to be the best in your strong topics.
Focus On Mathematics
In most of the engineering entrance examinations, mathematics will be the deciding factor. Keep an eye on the mathematics syllabus because the questions will not be asked beyond the boundaries. Regular practise is only the option to score well in this subject. With regular practise, you can increase your speed and accuracy.
Solve Previous Years' Questions Papers
Be it the board or competitive exams, previous years' question papers are important to understand the type of questions asked. While solving the question papers, you will find a new way or trick to solve the questions. This will also make you familiar with the exam environment and boost your confidence. You will also understand where to improve while taking the mock test or solving the previous years' questions papers.
Important Topics
As we mentioned above, it is better to focus on your strengths because there is no negative marking in COMEDK. In mathematics, relations and functions, 3D geometry, vectors, sets and calculus are important. In chemistry, give importance to s-block elements, p-block elements, d-block elements, biomolecules, general organic chemistry, chemical kinetics and thermodynamics. While coming to physics, focus should be on nuclear physics, semiconductor devices, magnetic effects and magnetism, simple harmonic motion, heat and thermodynamics.
