Emirati and expat students who are registered with the government schools in UAE can now apply for the new model schools known as 'Ajyal (generation) Schools' and avail the free schooling, according to a statement by UAE's Emirates Schools Establishment (ESE).
According to the UEA ESE, the Emirati and expat students can apply for the Ajyal (generation) Schools aka the new model schools that are in proximity to their homes and localities which are likely to be operational from the academic year 2022-23.
The school timings and calendar for the Ajyal (generation) Schools or the new model schools will remain the same as in public schools, and there will be no additional fees charged for students as the UAE government will bear their fees and all operating expenses.
ESE New Model Schools For Grades 1-4
The new model for government schools in UAE will initially be applied only for grades one to four to all students in around 10 schools under the Emirates Schools Establishment or ESM management and supervision, which later on will be extended to all students from grades fifth and sixth in 2024.
The ESM establishment will communicate regarding the opening of new classes from cycle-2 once approved to be included in the new model to the concerned parents following which a student can move to the government schools that follow the UAE curriculum at any time.
Big Draw For Indian Expats
The Indian community forms one of the largest expatriate communities in UAE forming approximately 3.5 million (30 percent) of the country's population out of the total 8.84 million total expats, which constitutes around 89% of UAE's population. The Indian expat community can apply for the Ajyal (generation) schools or the new model schools under the Emirates Schools Establishment (ESE) and avail of free schooling benefits.
The Emirates Schools Establishment has assured that no student will be affected by the new model schools as all their academic results and reports will be maintained and equated in accordance with the institution's marking system.
