Bangalore: "The Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) will be not be postponed. The exam will be conducted as per the scheduled dates, that is on May 4 and 5 " says Primary and Secondary education minister Kimmane Rathnakar.
In the wake of II-PU chemistry question paper leaks twice in 10 days the education department was planning to postpone the exam.
As per the TOI reports, "Students have adequate time to prepare for CET. So we decided not to postpone it," the minister said.
Justifying PU education department director Pallavi Akurathi's transfer, he said: "We cannot blame her because she took charge only a month before the exams began. If it were an officer who had been in the department for a long time, I would have suspended that officer."
However, the DPUE will be conducting the chemistry re-exam on April 12.
