The new dates for second year pre-university Chemistry re-examination has been announced. The exam is scheduled to be held on April 12.
The exam, which was scheduled to be held today i, e on March 31, has been cancelled following the question paper leak in Karnataka for the second time within a span of 10 days.
The exam has been postponed after II PU science student alerted the authorities about the question paper leak.
Speaking about the incident, Kimmane Rathnakar Minister for Primary and Secondary Education said that the 40 officials in the exam section of the Department of Pre-University Education have been suspended with immediate effect.
About 1.74 lakh students are said to be affected by the question paper leak.
Director of Department of Pre-university Education (DPUE) Director Pallavi Akurati, declared the cancellation of Chemistry re-examination, and urged students not to attend the exam centres as the question paper was leaked in Tumkur and Bengaluru cities.
Around 1.74 lakh science students had appeared for the Chemistry exam on March 21. In a shock to thousands of second year pre-university course (equivalent to class 12) students across Karnataka, the higher education department cancelled the chemistry exam and rescheduled it for March 31.
