GATE 2019: IIT Madras Started GATE Registration

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras has started accepting the online applications for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2019. One of the toughest entrance exams in the country, GATE is conducted for an admission to ME/MTech and PhD programmes at IITs, IISc, NITs, GFTIs and other universities in India. The GATE exam will be conducted on February 2, 3, 9 & 10, 2019.

Interested candidates who wish to appear for GATE 2019 have to register for the exam through GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS). One can apply online between September 1 and 21, 2018, without paying any late fee. This year, GATE 2019 will be conducted for 24 subjects. However, a candidate can appear only for one paper of the GATE examination.

GATE Registration 2019: Steps To Apply Online

Step 1: Visit the official website of GATE to register online - http://gate.iitm.ac.in.
Step 2: ''Click here to apply online'' and click on ''New User? Register Here''
Step 3: Fill out all the details that includes the mobile number and country of residence.
Step 4: After clicking on the ''Submit'' button, a candidate will receive an enrolment id through email and SMS.
Step 5: With the enrolment id, login to GOPAS.
Step 6: Fill out the exam details such as exam paper and exam city.
Step 7: Provide the details of the qualifying degree.
Step 8: Upload your photograph and signature besides the necessary documents.
Step 9: Verify the application content and proceed to the payment page.
Step 10: Submit the details and take a printout of the application form for future reference.

Application Fee

Candidates have to pay INR 1500 as application fee. All the female candidates and those belonging to the SC/ST/PWD category have to pay INR 750. However, the application fee will go up during the extended period. To know the details of the application fee, click here.

Candidates are advised to read the official notification of GATE 2019 clearly before filling out the application form. The application form will not be considered by the respective authority if a candidate doesn't satisfy the eligibility criteria. Candidates who are aiming to take GATE only for employment also have to fill the application form.
