Aadhaar Not Mandatory For JEE Main, NEET And UGC NET: Supreme Court

The apex court of India, Supreme Court, has announced that Aadhar is not required for the entrance examinations such as National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) and University Grant Commission - National Eligibility Test (UGC NET). The court has also stated that this 12 digits unique identification number is not required for school admission which is a huge relief to students. The Supreme Court's verdict came out while challenging the constitutional validity of Aadhaar.

Earlier, the National Testing Agency (NTA), which has been bestowed with the responsibility of conducting the entrance examinations such as UGC NET, JEE Main and NEET by HRD Ministry, had released a public notice regarding use of Aadhar in UGC NET/ JEE (Main).
