Every year, lakhs of budding engineers eagerly wait for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) which was earlier conducted once a year. The decision to hold the JEE Main twice a year got mixed reactions from the students. The HRD ministry has also introduced the National Testing Agency (NTA), which will be the organising body for JEE Main now onwards.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the exam schedule for both JEE Main I & II recently. The JEE Main was being conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) till 2018. From 2019 onwards, JEE Main will be conducted by NTA.
The first JEE Main I examination will be conducted in the month of January and NTA has started accepting the online registrations. Interested students who want to try their luck one more time in case they are unsatisfied with the previous performance can appear for JEE Main I conducted by NTA.

JEE Main Registration: Steps To Apply Online
Step 1: Visit the official website of NTA to register online. - https://www.nta.ac.in/
Step 2: Click on the ''Joint Entrance Examination'' under ''NTA Exams''.
Step 3: To start the JEE Main application, click on ''Registration''.
Step 4: Click on ''Fill Application Form''.
Step 5: Fill all the mandatory fields.
Step 6: Upload your photograph and signature.
Step 7: Pay the prescribed exam fee.
Step 8: Verify the application and submit the details.
Step 9: Take a printout of the application form for future reference.

The admit cards for the examination will be available from the third week of December and the results will be announced on January 31. Candidates can apply for JEE Main I 2019 until September 30, 2018.
Examination Fee
For paper-1 (BE/BTech) or paper-2 (BArch/BPlanning): General/OBC (non-creamy layer) boys have to pay INR 500 for the examination centre in India. All the girl candidates along with SC/ST/PWD category candidates have to pay INR 250 only.
For both paper-1 (BE/BTech) and paper-2 (BArch/BPlanning): General/OBC (non-creamy layer) boys have to pay INR 900 for the examination centre in India. All the girl candidates along with SC/ST/PWD category candidates have to pay INR 450 only.
JEE Main Eligibility
Candidates who have passed 10+2 examination with physics and mathematics as compulsory subjects, along with chemistry/biotechnology/biology/a technical vocational subject, are eligible for BE/BTech. However, pass in 10+2 examination with mathematics is required for BArch/BPlanning. To know more details, click here.

JEE Main is conducted for an admission to NITs, IIITs and CFTIs participating through Central Seat Allocation Board. The exam is conducted for an admission to the courses such as BE/BTech and BArch/BPlanning.
