The Mudra Institute of Communications, Ahmedabad (MICA), which was established in 1991, is an autonomous and non-profit organization. Many candidates across the country aspire to seek admission for the residential programmes offered by MICA. Every year, the Institute shortlist the candidates for programmes based on its own admission test - MICA Admission Test (MICAT). This is MICA's flagship programme which grooms candidates as future business leaders with an extensive focus on creative thinking, consumer-centricity, communication and community outreach. The PGDM-C is equivalent to an MBA and also popular across the country for its 100 per cent campus placement.

Candidates should possess a bachelor's degree (10 + 2 + 3 system) or an equivalent certificate in any discipline recognized by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). Students who are appearing for the final examinations in bachelor's degree are also eligible to register for MICAT.

Candidates have to satisfy all the eligibility conditions set by MICA to appear for MICAT exam. MICAT is conducted for admission to PGDM-C and/or PGDM programme. MICAT is conducted in two phases. MICAT 1 (I) is conducted in December and MICAT 2 (II) is conducted in February.

There is a three-step process for MICAT.

Step 1: Candidates have to appear for at least one amongst the three exams - Common Admission Test (CAT)/ Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT)/ Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT). One should update their respective exam score after receiving.

Step 2: Aspirants should appear for MICAT exam. The written test consists of psychometric and descriptive test. The MICAT exam will be held at more than 45 cities spread across the country.

Step 3: Candidates who stand out in MICAT exam along with scores in CAT/XAT/GMAT will be called for the Group Exercise (GE) & Personal Interview (PI).

Note: Based on the merit and choice of the programme between PGDM-C and PGDM, candidates will be provided admission.

The MICAT exam will be held in online mode. The question paper consists of between 94 and 105 questions. The duration of the MICAT will be around 2.5 hours. The exam consists of both objective and descriptive.

  • Section A: Psychometric Test
  • Section B: (has 4 sub-sections) - Verbal Ability, Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation, General awareness; Divergent and Convergent Thinking

  • GE & PI at Delhi and Kolkata - March 13, 14 & 15, 2020
  • Final results - End of March 2020
