SBI PO Main Exam: Last 10 Days Preparation Tips

With the announcement of SBI PO prelim results, the competition for the exam has advanced to the next phase. The government-owned bank, SBI, will be conducting the SBI PO main exam on August 4, 2018. Prep Tips For SBI PO Main Exam

Focus On Current Affairs For The General Awareness Section

The general awareness section is included in the SBI PO main exam. This section also consists of topics related to economic and banking awareness. One can crack this section easily if they focus more on banking awareness and current affairs. As the questions are based on facts, one can also answer them in less than a minute and save time for other sections.

Aim High For The Computer Aptitude

In the SBI PO main exam, the reasoning section shares as much importance as computer aptitude. This is also a scoring option because most of the questions will be based on facts. At least 15 questions are expected to be based on computer awareness. We suggest aspirants get familiar with the abbreviations, history of computers, generations in computers and computer applications used in the workplace.

Improve Your Writing Speed

Along with the objective test, the SBI PO main exam also consists of a descriptive test where a candidate has to attempt two questions (letter writing and essay) in 30 minutes. At least 450 words in the essay will help you land you in the safe zone; the body of the essay should contain a detailed analysis.

While coming to letter writing, one should thoroughly memorise the format besides displaying proficiency of the English language. Answering two questions in less than 30 minutes will be a tough task, hence, try to increase your writing speed with regular practise.

Save Preparation Time Strategically

Aspirants have to understand that there will be less than three weeks for the SBI PO main exam preparation after the SBI PO prelim results. Hence, it is suggested to save the preparation time by only revising the repeating topics in the reasoning ability and quantitative aptitude sections. It is also advised to prepare for the descriptive test along with the English language topics.

Score Well In The Data Analysis & Interpretation

There is no need to say how important this section is in the SBI PO main exam. One has to answer 35 questions in 45 minutes. There is a bit difference between quantitative aptitude and DA & I. One can score well in this paper if they are good at shortcuts and smart tricks. While practising for DA & I, try to answer questions without seeing the options. This will provide more accurate results and help a lot during the SBI PO main exam.

Most of the DA & I are based on pie charts, line graphs, bar graphs, missing DI and tabular graphs. If you are strong with the basic simplification processes such as ratio and proportion, percentages, profit and loss, averages, time and work, simple and compound interest, you can score well.
