There is less than a month to go for the most-awaited State Bank of India (SBI) probationary officers examination. SBI PO examination is conducted in a three-tiered process that consists of a preliminary, a main examination and group exercises & an interview.

The selection process is all set to kick-start with the phase I, preliminary examination, which will take place in the first week of July. Candidates who registered for the examination can visit the official website to download the call letters. As the exam date is approaching, aspirants should not commit any mistakes while preparing. Here are the top ten common mistakes to avoid in SBI PO specifically during the last month preparation.

1. Referring Too Many Books

Aspirants should remember the most important point - that the SBI probationary exam requires a lot of practice while preparing rather than reading the theoretical concepts. Referring too many books for the concepts will not help you to get through the exam. Indeed, focus more on the solving the practice papers that includes previous years' question papers.

2. Not Considering The Main Examination

Success in the preliminary exam will not land you the post of a probationary officer in the SBI. After clearing the preliminary exam, candidates have to crack the main examination also, which will be conducted in the month of August. Though the main examination requires a different approach, the concepts are same in both preliminary and mains. We suggest you to start preparation parallelly for both preliminary and main examination for better results.

3. Not Following The Study Plan

We hope, everyone has prepared a study schedule before kick-starting their preparation. Not sticking to the schedule will weaken your confidence besides delivering the negative result. Practising the topics without any planning will only intimidate you at the final stage of the preparation process.

4. Not Checking The Accuracy

Attempting the whole SBI PO question paper is encouraged but not at the cost of negative marking. Aspirants should stick to their time while practising the questions because 0.25 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer. So, increase your speed along with accuracy.

5. Keeping Important Topics At End

Make yourself smart by mastering the important topics first. Reading the important topics first not only makes your preparation easy but also boosts your confidence. By analysing the previous years' question papers, one can assess the weightage of the topics.

6. Not Using The Shortcuts

Only 60 minutes will be provided to take 100 questions in the SBI preliminary. This means aspirants will have less than a minute to answer each question. Mastering the shortcuts are required while preparing, which saves time during the exam. However, practising too many shortcuts sometimes creates ambiguity.

7. Not Woking On Weaknesses

Everyone has to divide their preparation time equally for all the sections. There will be an individual cut-off for every section, hence, aspirants should focus on other weaker subjects though they are confident about their favourite subject.

8. Taking Many Study Breaks

We do agree that the study breaks are important to keep yourself on the track. It is advised to take a break for every 45 minutes while preparing. However, the break time should not be more than 10 minutes. We suggest you to utilize the break time productively by eating or doing the physical exercises.

9. Keeping Revision At Bay

In a couple of weeks, aspirants will be entering into the final phase of the preparation. During the final phase, one should devote a reasonable amount of time for the revisions. Many candidates, who have failed to do the revision part, have felt sorry for it after the exam. Never be one amongst them. We suggest you to devote at least 5 hours for revision specifically during the last day of preparation.

10. Ignoring Online Mock Test

Aspirants should be familiar with the online format because both SBI PO preliminary and main examination will be conducted online. Though you are doing enough practice offline, attempting the full-length mock tests online will provide positive results.
