CUK signs MoU with National Law University

Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir: The Central University of Kashmir (CUK) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Law University (NLU), New Delhi.

The MoU was signed between the Officiating Vice-Chancellor of CUK, Prof Mehraj-ud-Din Mir and Prof. Ranbir Singh, Vice-Chancellor National Law University.

Both the Vice-Chancellors stated that, the purpose of signing the MoU is to encourage collaboration in academic and institutional terms in exchange of students and members of faculty between the two varsities.

Both the varsities have agreed to collaborate in mutually agreeable academic events, teaching, training and research.

The faculty members of the varsities would be invited for attending important seminars, conferences, and for teachings at doctoral level, they said.

The Ph.D scholars of both universities would also be allowed to make use of library resources of both universities and to have academic interaction with the faculty.

The Ph.D candidates in interdisciplinary areas of research involving law from the NLU shall work under the supervision of the faculty members of SLS, CUK, or if agreed, jointly supervised by the faculty members from two parties, reads the MoU.

The research scholars and teaching faculty of SLS, CUK and the NLU will also explore possibility of taking up collaborative research work and also apply together for seeking funds from national and international agencies, governments and other funding agencies.

Prof. Sheikh Showkat, Head, Department of Legal Studies, and other faculty members were also present on the occasion.
