ARIIA Ranking 2019: Which Institutes Occupied Top Positions In Innovation

Innovation is one amongst the buzzwords in the 21st Century across the world. It plays a significant role in converting ideas into products and services. Innovation is required in every sector for economic growth besides social development. Youth has a bigger role to play in making India the global innovation hub. Hence, the government has decided to focus on the Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), which will create a sustainable innovation ecosystem.

Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements (ARIIA) is an initiative of Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) to rank the top higher educational institutions and universities spread across the country with regards to ''Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development'' amongst students and faculties.

ARIIA Ranking Indicators

A total of seven parameters are measured for assessment of innovation and startup ecosystem in HEIs.

• Budget, Expenses to Support & Revenue Generated - (20 marks)
• Infrastructures & Facilities to Support Innovations and Start-ups - (10 marks)
• Awareness Activities for Promoting Idea Generation and Innovation - (20 marks)
• Promotion and Supporting Entrepreneurship Development - (20 marks)
• Intellectual Property (IP) Generation, Technology Transfer and Commercialization - (14 marks)
• Innovative Learning Methods & Courses - (10 marks)
• Innovations in Governance of the Institution - (6 marks)
