The CSR division of the State Bank Group, SBI Foundation, has issued a call for applications for the upcoming 12th cohort of the SBI Youth for India Fellowship program. Modeled after the US Peace Corps, this program spans 13 months and offers a structured opportunity for educated young individuals from urban backgrounds, aged between 21 and 32, including graduates and young professionals.

It aims to foster collaboration with rural communities and 13 reputable NGOs across the nation, with the goal of driving significant societal change. The program operates within 12 thematic areas, encompassing health, food security, rural livelihood, environmental conservation, water management, education, technology, women's empowerment, self-governance, social entrepreneurship, traditional crafts, and alternative energy.
The SBI Youth for India Fellowship program addresses 12 thematic areas, including Health, Rural Livelihood, Food Security, Environmental Protection, Education, Water, Technology, Women's Empowerment, Self-Governance, Social Entrepreneurship, Traditional Craft, and Alternate Energy. Throughout the fellowship, participants engage in projects related to one of these areas based on their interests, as outlined in the program's release.
The program is scheduled to commence on May 13th. Prospective applicants are required to complete an online application form, providing personal details, educational history, professional background, and responses to inquiries regarding their personal experiences.
Applicants selected for further consideration will be invited to attend an in-person interview to evaluate their alignment with the program's objectives. Final decisions regarding acceptance into the fellowship will be based on performance in the online assessment, interview, and overall suitability for the program.
Eligible candidates for application include Indian citizens, Overseas Citizens of India (OCI), or individuals holding citizenship from Bhutan or Nepal, who demonstrate a strong commitment to promoting sustainable development in rural areas.
