For students who want to study abroad to do a Master's or PhD can apply for the National Overseas Scholarship/Passage Grant 2017. This scholarship will sponsor the cost of fees etc. and other educational expenses including maintenance, contingency allowance, and travel expenses for various courses in the specified field of study at Master's and doctorate level only.
Also, some reservations are allocated for women in order to encourage them to apply for the grant. Thirty per cent of the awards shall be earmarked for them.

Target Audience
These scholarships are awarded every year to students who belong to scheduled caste, denotified, nomadic and semi-nomadic tribes, landless agricultural labourers and traditional artisans, to pursue higher studies in abroad.
Eligibility
Students should have secured 55 per cent marks or above in Bachelors or Masters
Their family income must be less than Rs 6 lakhs p.a.
Age Limit
Students should be below 35 years of age
