UPSC Recruitment 2017: Apply For Scientist Officer Post!

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has issued a recruitment notification inviting applications for the post of Chemical and Non Destructive Scientist Officer. The vacancy is available in National Test House, Department of Consumer Affairs, Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution

The interested candidates can now send in the applications on or before November 16, 2017.

There are 13 vacancies available for the recruitment process on permanent basis.

Pay Scale for UPSC Recruitment 2017

The pay scale for Scientist Officer (Chemical and Non Destructive) posts is Rs. 47,600 to Rs.1,51, 100.

Eligibility for UPSC Recruitment 2017

Educational Qualifications

The Candidates must have a Master's Degree in Chemistry or Master's Degree in Microbiology or Degree in Chemical Technology or degree in Chemical Engineering from a recognized institute can apply for the post.

The candidates with Master's Degree in Physics or Degree in Electrical Engineering or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Metallurgy from a recognized University or Institute can also apply for th post.

Age Limit

For the Scientist Officer (chemical post)

  • The age limit is notified as maximum of 30 years for candidates belonging to General category.
  • The maximum age limit if 33 years for candidates belonging to OBC category.
  • The age limit us maximum of 35 years for candidates belonging to SC category.

For the Scientist Officer (Non-Destructive post)

  • The age limit is notified as maximum of 30 years for candidates belonging to General category.
  • The maximum age limit if 33 years for candidates belonging to OBC category.

There will be a probation, which comes under the mandatory instruction Training. It will be for 2 to 4 weeks devised and sponsored by the the National Test House in regards to the responsibilities and the duties.

  • The candidates will have to visit the official website -upsc.gov.in
  • Click on the tab 'Online Recruitment Application (ORA)' under Recruitment
  • Click on the 'Scientist Officer (chemical)' or 'Scientist Officer (Non-Destructive) to check the notification.
  • Make sure you are eligible for the post.
  • Next to the name of the post click on the 'Apply Now' link.
  • Register if you haven't.
  • Use the credentials and login.
  • Enter your details.
  • Upload a passport size photograph and signature in the space provided.
  • Submit the details.
  • Download a copy.
  • Take a print out and send the hard copy along with necessary documents to the address mentioned in the notification.
