The UPSC civil services exam 2016 results have been announced by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) late Wednesday.
Selection process for UPSC 2016
In total 1099 candidates have qualified in UPSC the exam. The selection has been depending on the
- Performance of the candidates in written exam of Civil Services Exam 2016 that was conducted in December, 2016
- The interviews for Personality Test held in March-May, 2017
UPSC 2016 Topper
The top three rankers in order are
- Nandini KR from Karnataka
- Anmol Sher Singh Bedi
- Gopalakrishna Ronanki
Apart from Nandini K R and Anmol Sher Singh Bedi, the other female candidates who have secured place within top 10 rank are Saumya Pandey (4th rank) and Shweta Chauhan (7th rank).
Civil services 2016 departments
The selected 1099 candidates in the civil services 2016 will be appointed in departments such as
- Indian Administrative Service
- Indian Foreign Service
- Indian Police Service
- Central Services, Group 'A' and Group 'B'.

Category wise candidates break up
- 500 students qualified in general category
- 347 candidates were selected in OBC category
- 163 and 89 candidates were selected in SC and ST categories respectively.

How to check the UPSC Civil Services 2016 Exam results?
In order to check the UPSC civil services 2016 exam results, candidates must visit the commission's official website upsc.gov.in.
"UPSC has a "Facilitation Counter" near Examination Hall in its campus. Candidates can obtain any information / clarification regarding their examinations / recruitment on the working days between 10:00 hours to 17:00 hours in person or over telephone Nos. 23385271 / 23381125 / 23098543. Result will also be available on the U.P.S.C. website i.e. http//www.upsc.gov.in. Marks will be available on the website within 15 days from the date of declaration of Result," the official notification read.
How many candidates wrote the civil services 2016 exam?
Around 11.36 lakhs civil services aspirants had registered for the preliminary exam that took place in August last year.
According to a statement from UPSC, appointment to the various Services will be made according to the number of vacancies available with due consideration to the provisions contained in the Rules for the Examination.
