At Delhi University (DU), the 2023-2024 academic year has officially begun. As of August 15, 64,288 students had confirmed their enrollment. Professor Yogesh Singh, the vice chancellor, sent greetings to the freshmen and assured them of a friendly, courteous, and ragging-free environment in DU's top academic institutions.
Celebrating Highs In Admission
In the first round, the top five universities with the most admissions were Dyal Singh College, Hansraj College, Gargi College, Ramjas College, and Kirori Mal College. In the second round, Swami Shraddhanand, Deshbandhu College, and Zakir Hussain College took the lead.
The outstanding faculty and wide variety of courses offered at these universities, according to Professor Haneet Gandhi, dean of admissions at DU, are responsible for this achievement.

In-Demand Courses
Professor Gandhi added the disciplines that most students had signed up for to the exciting news. The BCom and BA courses, particularly BCom (Hons), BCom, BA (Hons) Political Science, BA (Hons) Economics, and BA (Hons) English, attracted the most attention.
Breakdown Of Choices
Professor Gandhi went into detail about the preferences of the students, saying that 30,627 of the applicants preferred to freeze their admission and 29,217 to upgrade. Around 8,010 and 5,560 individuals, respectively, received first and second preferences.
Empowering Through Education
Professor Yogesh also spoke about the favorable gender distribution that was seen during the admissions process. The ratio of female students, who made up more than half of the admissions, was 53%, while the percentage of male students was 47%.This demonstrates DU's dedication to educating women for empowerment and putting the nation on the path to a future with equality for men and women.
