On September 1, the National Testing Agency released advance city intimation slips for the UGC NET re-exam in English, Commerce, and Sociology. Candidates can now confirm their exam city for tests scheduled on September 9 and 10. Admit cards will follow separately on the official portal.

The re-exam targets only these three subjects, after an NTA committee flagged widespread factual, typographical, and translation errors, plus repeated questions. The agency ruled such defects undermine fairness and cannot be fixed by dropping items. No additional fee will be charged to affected candidates.

Go to the official UGC-NET website, open the Advance City Intimation link for the re-exam, and sign in using Application Number, Date of Birth, and security code. UGC NET admit card: release, verification checklist, and changes to expect

Admit cards will be issued separately for the re-exam. Download only from the official portal and verify name, photograph, subject, date, shift, and centre. The name on your photo ID must match the admit card. For discrepancies or download failures, contact the NTA helpdesk during working hours.

UGC NET re-exam schedule and shifts for English, Commerce, Sociology

As per the public notice, English is on September 9, Shift 1, from 9 am to 12 noon. Commerce follows on September 9, Shift 2, from 3 pm to 6 pm. Sociology is scheduled on September 10, Shift 1, from 9 am to 12 noon.
