The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued city slips for the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research-University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (CSIR UGC NET). Scheduled from July 25 to July 27, candidates can now access their city slips on the official website using their application number and date of birth. The admit cards will be released at a later date.

Previously, the education ministry had to cancel the joint exam a day after it was conducted due to concerns about compromised exam integrity. Over nine lakh candidates had appeared for the exam, which is held to fill assistant professor positions in universities and colleges and to determine eligibility for junior research fellowships.
Exam Schedule
The detailed schedule for the CSIR UGC NET exams is as follows:
July 25
- 9:00 am - 12:00 pm: Earth, Atmospheric, Ocean, and Planetary Sciences, Physical Sciences
- 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm: Mathematical Sciences
July 26
- 9:00 am - 12:00 pm: Life Sciences (Session 1)
- 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm: Life Sciences (Session 2)
July 27
9:00 am - 12:00 pm: Chemical Sciences
Marking Scheme
Each question in the CSIR UGC NET exam carries a weight of 2 marks. Candidates earn these marks for each correct answer. There is no penalty for incorrect answers, and unanswered or unattempted questions receive no marks. To answer a question, candidates must select one option as correct.
If a question is found to be incorrect or ambiguous with multiple correct answers, only those who attempted and selected one of the correct options will receive credit. If a question is deemed incorrect and subsequently dropped, candidates who attempted it will receive 2 marks, regardless of whether the error was due to human or technical reasons.
UGC NET Exam Details
The UGC NET is conducted twice a year, in June and December. It determines eligibility for professorships, awards Junior Research Fellowships, and facilitates enrollment in Ph.D. programs at Indian universities. The subjects covered include Life Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Earth, Atmospheric, Ocean, and Planetary Sciences, Physical Sciences, and Mathematical Sciences.
The NTA's release of city slips marks an important step towards ensuring that candidates are well-prepared for their upcoming exams.
