The West Bengal Board of Education recommends a two-part approach for the WBCHSE Class 12 board exams

The WBCHSE has suggested to the West Bengal government that the class 12 board examinations be held in two parts beginning with the 2025-26 academic session, according to its president, Chiranjib Bhattacharya.

The West Bengal Board of Education recommends

The West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) will hold the examinations in two sections, he said, between November and March. The first semester examination, which will be held in November, will be objective, with students answering questions on OMR sheets, according to Bhattacharya. "The second examination will be more descriptive," he explained.

He explained that the final grade will be based on the average of the two exams so that students do not grow complacent after performing well in the first. The idea was consistent with the state's education policy, which advocated for breaking the higher secondary test into two halves.
