Shocking! Toilets used as classrooms in Gurgaon government college?

Toilet is the classroom for M.A students

In a humiliating and shocking report, it has been revealed that the Dronacharya Government College, New Railway Road, Gurgaon uses their toilets as classrooms for M.A in Sociology students. This has allegedly been happening for the past two years after the college ran out of the space available on the campus.

According to TOI report, Principal R K Yadav said this was because there weren't enough government funds to expand the number of classrooms.

Yadav said that college needed 25 more classrooms. But they had received permission only to build 12 classrooms, a year ago. The state government has not been sanctioning funds for building the new classrooms. So, they were forced to convert the college toilet as a classroom to accommodate 40 M.A students.

"There are 60 students in our batch, out of which around 35 go to the toilet every day to attend classes. It's humiliating, but at least it's is better than sitting out in the sun for lectures," one of the final year M.A sociology student said.

Some of the students complained to the college administration about the shortage of classrooms. But, it has been two years, and nothing seems to have changed so far.

Prof Bhup Singh, a senior faculty member said that the colleges had started master's degree courses four years go. He blamed the bureaucracy members for the delay in sanctioning the amount.
