Ministry of Education has released the Standard Operating Procedure (SOPs) guidelines for reopening of schools. Ministry has prepared the new guidelines considering the health and safety of students amid COVID-19 pandemic. Union Education Minister Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank released the "SOP/Guidelines for Health and Safety protocols for Reopening of Schools and Learning with Physical/Social Distancing."
Earlier, Ministry of Home Affairs has released Unlock 5.0 Guidelines for phased re-opening of schools and colleges. The Centre has given authority to States or Union Terrorities to decide on reopening of schools and coaching institutions. Minister for Education Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank tweeted, "Checklist for a safe school environment, as adopted from @UNICEFIndia guideline is provided for schools parents and students to contain the spread of #COVID19. #SchoolGuidelines"
Minister shared a video byte explaining the SOP/Guidelines issued for reopening of schools. States/UT Governments are vested with the authority to take a decision in respect of reopening of schools and coaching institutions after October 15 in a graded manner.
Mr Nishank also assured that all the safety precautions to be taken for preparing and serving Midday Meal in schools.
