West Bengal and Telangana schools will be closed for a short duration due to upcoming festivals and government-declared holidays. This break will provide students and teachers with the opportunity to participate in cultural and religious events. West Bengal schools will remain shut for two days, while Telangana will observe a three-day academic break until February 16, 2025.

Telangana
Schools in Telangana will be closed from February 14 to February 16, 2025. The break begins with Shab-e-Barat on February 14, an important Islamic observance. Although not a mandatory school holiday, many institutions, particularly in Hyderabad and nearby districts, are expected to remain closed to allow students and staff to participate. This is followed by Sant Sewalal Maharaj Jayanti on February 15, a state-declared holiday. The break extends into Sunday, February 16, providing an uninterrupted three-day recess.
West Bengal
The state government has declared February 13 and 14, 2025, as holidays for schools to mark Shab-e-Barat and Panchanan Barma Jayanti. Initially, February 14 was designated for Shab-e-Barat observance, but after confirming that it falls on February 13, the government extended the holiday to ensure proper recognition of both events.
Significance of the Holiday Period
The decision to adjust the academic calendar reflects the importance of recognizing cultural and religious diversity. These holidays enable students and educators to observe traditions without academic pressures, fostering a more inclusive and balanced educational environment.
For students, this brief pause serves as an opportunity to engage in community celebrations, spend time with family, or take a break before resuming academic activities. With cultural and academic balance in mind, these decisions reinforce the role of education in promoting awareness and respect for diverse traditions.
