Primary Schools To Reopen In Karnataka From Oct 25

With the reopening of Karnataka Primary Schools, almost all classes are now open for students to attend offline lectures. Even before senior students' offline classes commenced, some sections were demanding to begin classes for younger students as well.

Karnataka's Chief Minister, Basavaraj Bommai, recently told the media that a decision on reopening Primary Schools would be made shortly, but only after a meeting with the Expert Committee. The Committee was assessing the state's overall situation, particularly in the aftermath of Dussehra, and sought to ensure that the environment was suitable for these students.

  • When children arrive at school, they must carry their parent's consent letters with them. They will not be permitted to visit campus unless they don't have it.
  • Attendance is not compulsory at this time, and parents who do not want to send their children to school can continue to take online lessons.
  • At the entrance gate, students would be screened for temperature and any other symptoms such as a cold or fever.
  • Schools must disinfect all classrooms with a 1 percent sodium hydrochloride solution on a daily basis.

COVID-19 safety procedures would be implemented in Karnataka Primary Schools when they are reopened. As this age group of children has not been vaccinated, extra precautions and care will be taken to ensure their safety. Apart from this, masks will be worn, thermal screeners and sanitisers will be used, and social distance will be maintained.
