A first-year MBBS student at RIMS is being questioned by the CBI in the NEET-UG paper leak case, highlighting concerns over exam security and integrity.

An official reported on Friday that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is questioning a first-year MBBS student from the 2023 batch of RIMS in connection with the NEET-UG paper leak case.

CBI Probes Student In NEET-UG Leak Case

Earlier this week, the CBI approached the student, who resides in the girls' hostel at RIMS, formerly known as Rajendra Medical College and Hospital (RMCH). The institute operates autonomously under the Jharkhand government. "The CBI team is questioning a first-year student. The team contacted the hospital management on Wednesday saying they wanted to question her in connection with the NEET paper leak. The management extended full cooperation to the team. On Thursday too, they grilled her and said she will be questioned further," RIMS PRO Rajiv Ranjan said.

NEET-UG Paper Leak Investigation

On the same day in Bihar, four MBBS students from AIIMS Patna were arrested by the CBI as part of their investigation into the NEET-UG paper leak. These arrests followed two days after Pankaj Kumar alias Aditya, a 2017-batch civil engineer from National Institute of Technology Jamshedpur, was apprehended for allegedly stealing the NEET-UG paper from an NTA trunk in Hazaribagh.

The CBI also detained Raju Singh, who allegedly assisted Kumar in stealing the exam paper. The agency has registered six FIRs so far in connection with these irregularities. The parents of the questioned RIMS student have been informed about the situation by the hospital management.
