The National Testing Agency (NTA) declared the NEET 2024 results and cutoff on June 4, 2024. Candidates can access their scores on the official NTA NEET website. Additionally, the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has published the NEET seat matrix for the upcoming counselling sessions.

India currently offers a total of 1,08,990 MBBS seats across 702 medical colleges and 70,645 postgraduate medical seats. Tamil Nadu leads with 11,225 NEET seats, followed by Karnataka with 11,020 and Uttar Pradesh with 9,253 seats.
NEET Seat Matrix and State-wise Distribution:
The NEET seat matrix includes 2,196 MBBS seats in 21 AIIMS colleges. The introduction of the EWS quota in NEET has increased the number of MBBS and BDS seats, reflecting a significant rise in available seats over recent years.
The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has released a state-wise list of MBBS seats in government and private medical colleges. Uttar Pradesh offers 9,053 MBBS seats, Delhi has 1,497, and Andhra Pradesh provides 5,335 seats, among others.
Karnataka boasts a total of 219 medical colleges. KMC Manipal stands out with the highest seat intake of 250 for MBBS courses. Kerala's top institutions include Government Medical College Kozhikode with a similar intake capacity.
Top Medical Colleges Across States:
In West Bengal, there are 137 medical colleges, including AIIMS Kalyani and Midnapore Medical College. Andhra Pradesh features prominent institutions like AIIMS Mangalagiri and Andhra Medical College Vishakapatnam.
Haryana is home to esteemed colleges such as PGIMER Chandigarh and GMCH Chandigarh. Maharishi Markandeshwar Medical College ranks #34 among India's top medical institutions.
Rajasthan hosts notable colleges like AIIMS Jodhpur and Jaipur National University Institute of Medical Sciences. Odisha's leading institutions include AIIMS Bhubaneswar and Bhima Bhoi Medical College.
Counselling Process and Seat Allocation:
The MCC will begin NEET counselling in July 2024. The process will be conducted in six rounds based on seat availability. The number of undergraduate medical seats has surged by 112%, from 51,348 in 2014 to the current figure of 1,08,990. Postgraduate seats have also seen a rise of 127%, now totalling 70,645 compared to 31,185 in the fiscal year 2013-14.
The MCC allocates 15% of government medical and dental seats to All India Quota (AIQ) candidates, while state authorities determine the remaining seats. The reservation policy applies to both AIQ and state quota seats.
