The Ministry of Education has established a high-level committee to ensure the transparent and efficient conduct of examinations by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The committee, led by former ISRO chairman K Radhakrishnan, will prioritize gathering concerns and suggestions from parents and students. The seven-member panel plans to consolidate the feedback received within the next two weeks, engaging with stakeholders through in-person or electronic means.

The committee's next priority is to quickly develop a robust, tamper-proof system with zero errors for conducting tests. This system aims to reduce difficulties and stress for students while incorporating adequate flexibility. The Ministry of Education formed the committee on Saturday, comprising experts from various fields, including education and administration.
Addressing Recent Controversies
The formation of the committee follows controversies surrounding a NEET-UG paper leak and a retest for 1563 candidates who received 'grace marks' for 'loss of time' in the NEET-UG exam held in May. Additionally, three other public exams - UGC-NET, CSIR-UGC NET, and NEET-PG - have either been cancelled or postponed. Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan announced last week that a high-level panel would review the structure and functioning of the NTA.
The committee is expected to submit its report to the Ministry within two months. It will provide recommendations on three aspects: reforming the examination process mechanism, improving data security protocols, and enhancing the structure and functioning of the NTA. These measures aim to boost transparency and efficiency in conducting national-level examinations in India.
